POTEAU – The Cameron Lady Yellowjackets and the Clayton Bulldogs each accomplished two things at the Class A District Tournament, which took place Friday and Saturday nights at Carl Albert State College’s Mick Thompson Fieldhouse.

Both the Lady ‘Jackets and ‘Dogs had to win elimination games Friday night, as Cameron eliminated former Heavener cross country and girls’ basketball coach Eddie Muse’s Clayton Lady Bulldogs 68-61 while Clayton eliminated district-host Cameron 79-73.

Then, the Cameron girls and Clayton boys went out and avenged regular-season losses to Red Oak by beating the Lady Eagles and Eagles in Saturday night’s district finals.

Clayton ended up winning going away over Red Oak by a score of 55-43 in the district championship after blowing a 15-point lead to the Eagles in a 62-57 loss Dec. 10 in Red Oak.
